Furman at The Citadel, Wed., 7 p.m.

Many years ago, Jonathan Moore had two free throws to send a game at McAlister Fieldhouse into overtime. The fieldhouse was different back then. The current floor is perpendicular to how it used to be. Lot nicer place now. The backboard was shaking. Jonathan hit the first but missed the second. He said later he hit the one when it was shaking. Then it stopped, and that was the one he missed. -- MD

We were much better last year, they are much better this year. We lost down there last year. So naturally we will win this year. Correct?

Current SoCon rankings in the NET and KP
NET. KP
SAMFORD. 85. 88
WCU. 114. 122
UNCG. 124. 130
UTC. 132. 147
FURMAN. 144. 141
WOFFORD. 202. 224
ETSU. 227. 221
MERCER. 230. 240
CITADEL. 251. 261
VMI. 351. 349
Based on the above rankings we should go 7-3 or 6-4 the rest of the way. That would give us a plus .500 season and a top 6 spot in the tourney. Cross your fingers.

Furman favored by 6.5 points. Would not touch that with a 10 foot pole.
Espn gives FU a 57% chance of winning.

I've been firmly in the "we'll be OK by tourney time" camp, but that will change with a loss to a last place bellhop team tonight. We've gotta have this one - no let down, no excuses.

Agree MP, after winning 5 in a row with 2 games against the leagues worst next up a loss in one of those games was not unexpected if not expected. Losing both would be a huge step backward.
