An attorney named Jason Belzer, who is involved in NIL has tweeted out some figures for the NIL collectives, coaches, and athletes he works with.
For football the averages are $45,000 for starters at the top 50% of P5 schools, $25,000 for players on the two deep, and $15,000 for bench players. At the bottom 50% of P5 the numbers are $15,000, $7,500, and $2,500. At the "group of 5" conferences the amounts are $5,000, $2,500, and $1,500. No figures given for FCS.
According to his figures for basketball the the top 3 players at P5 and the Big East schools average $75,000, the top 6 players get $50,000 and top 9 players average $15,000. Top 3 at G5, A10, and WCC schools are getting $35,000, top 6 get $15,000 and top 9 get $5,000. At mid-majors the corresponding numbers are $15,000, $5,000 and $1,500.How much are student-athletes really making?
