Some other scores tonight

Western Carolina goes on the road and knocks off ETSU 71-60. UNCG by 12 at home over Chattanooga. Samford 87-78 over VMI. Wofford edges Mercer by 1 at Mercer.
Samford and UNCG at now 3-0 to start the conference season. Furman, ETSU, and WCU are all 2-1, Chattanooga, Wofford, and the Citadel are 1-2, and Mercer, and VMI are 0-3.
Clemson beat Virginia Tech and is leading the ACC with a 4-0 conf. record. NC. State whipped Duke - 84-60.
Another score of interest - Stephen F Austin beat New Mexico State 69-60 and are now 3-0 and in the early lead in the WAC

Easy to see why Dook will play nobody on the road that they don't have to. HaHaHa.

After the Citadel game it is clear to me that with contributions similar to that game from other players such as Foster Williams and anyone else will produce the balance we need to finish up there in the conference. We may have a well balanced physical team that can win in many different ways. I feel that we do and the next few games will give us an indication if that is true....

Yeah, UNCG and WCU look strong. Sammy I think will come back to earth.
Remember that Samford's star point guard, Ques Glover, has been out injured for a while and has not played in their 3-0 conference start. He also missed at least 5 games during their 7 game non-conference losing streak. They are also missing at least two other key players including one who was a starter. I expect them to improve as their injured return to action.

Updating with some Saturday results. In the battle for first place Samford went on the road and built a double digit lead late at UNCG,
only scored 3 points in the last 4 minutes of the game but held on to win the game 70-68. Western Carolina crushed Mercer by 28 at Mercer.Chattanooga beat VMI by 7, Wofford plays the Citadel later.

Mercer vs. WCU was @ WCU. The crushed part is 100% accurate.
