SoCon Opener
Samford coming in at 10-2 with a win at SEC Ole Miss, seems like a much improved team from the product they put out on the court last season.

Think espn is a little high giving FU an almost 92% chance of winning. More like 50/50.

Please be consistent and just say we don’t have a chance. That way, we are assured of a win. Thank you.

Wow, surprised you think it’s even 50/50. Figured you’d say it’s more likely Furman loses.

Any word on Alex Hunter? Will he be available and/or does he remain on concussion protocol?

Tweet the other day showed him lifting weights at practice so hopefully he is ok.

Well Sammy is 10-2, has some good wins including Ole Miss. we are 8-5. Practically every FU game has been close. Sammy is loaded with veteran transfers(9). Have 4 players averaging double figures and one at 9.2. Just saying, that we virtually have no chance to lose is ridiculous. Yes we can win but do any of you believe there is a 92% chance we win?

Is Alex Williams going to play? He is enjoyable to watch and has a big upside.

No doubt Samford is capable of knocking off the Paladins. Every SoCon opponent is capable. We are also good enough to beat anyone. How consistent can we be is the question for the season.
Samford is the underdog because their wins have not rated as highly and schedule has not been as tough as Furman's. Oregon State is 2-10 overall, #140 in Sagarin and 11th of the 12 teams in the Pac12. Mississippi is a nice win but they have been inconsistent and are #101 in Sagarin and rated 11th of 13 in the SEC. Samford has been good in close games. Five of their seven D1 wins hve been by 2 point or 1. (3 by 2 points and 2 by 1 point.) Three of their wins are over non D1 teams. Five wins against teams ranked in the bottom 80 in the NCAA.
Belmont is our only common opponent. We lost in OT after leading late in the game at Belmont. Samford fell behind early at home and trailed by 21 at halftime. The final margin of 12 was about as close as it got in the second half.

KenPom gives us a much more reasonable 82% chance of winning.
