was perusing KenPom today and the vastly improved state of the SoCon is hard to ignore....starting in 2016 the conference has gotten so much better top to bottom and more evenly balanced from best to worst, while also improving our standing nationally.
Here's a quick and easy way to articulate it.
2018 - 3 teams in top 100 and ranked overall #22 among D1 conferences
2020 - 3 teams in top 100 and ranked overall #15 among D1 conferences
2022 - 0 teams in top 100 and ranked overall #13 among D1 conferences (season to date)

Am I reading the Kenpom right? Is Furman 50 spots behind a team they just beat on that team’s home court?

Both Massey & Sagarin ratings currently rate the SoCon higher than the MVC

Sagarin (scroll midway for conferences):

Stunning, indeed.

If the SoCon keeps losing games to PC that rating will go down. Currently 0-2 both OT losses.
