Double standard? Or what?

Syracuse has a positive on team but just sits the player and contiues on without shutting down the program, so some schools shut down and other keep on playing

One member of the Syracuse men's basketball team has tested positive for COVID-19.

The school said in a release the positive result stemmed from testing that occurred last week. Consistent with local health department guidelines, that individual and the team are taking all necessary precautions.

Syracuse did not reveal which player had tested positive and indicated that, because of the new positive test, additional players, including guard Buddy Boeheim, were unable to play against Niagara on Thursday night because of contact tracing.

Coach Jim Boeheim said after Syracuse's 75-45 victory that the positive test belonged to a walk-on and clarified that five players, including his son Buddy, will have to sit out 14 days because of contact tracing.

"He's home broken-hearted because he's worked his tail off every day since last season ended to be on the court, and he hasn't done anything wrong,'' Boeheim said.

Boeheim said that more than 600 COVID-19 tests have been given to the team and there have been just two positives. The Orange (2-0) are next scheduled to host Rider on Saturday.

So are we to believe that larger programs and conferences in many cases won't shut things down?
But smaller leagues will?

On the flip I do see where ACC Louisville is not playing UNCG tonight, so is this just actually a per school policy decision and not a per conference decision?

I like the Syracuse model. I don't think they are taking unnecessary risks and it keeps from having to cancel so many games.

IMHO some of these majors are using Covid excuses to cancel games against mid-majors. I bet Louisville wouldn't have cancelled that game if it was against Dook or UNC.

Is there any way the Richmond game could be rescheduled for sometime this year???? I would assume they've tried?

Totally agree FA. Syracuse did the right thing as a few others have but many have gone overboard like Richmond. In regards to rescheduling UR CBR said in his podcast that they could still play this year if both needed a game later in the season. Prolly not likely.
