Next week's games

Sooo ... extended rain delay. Let's talk some hoops. Coming off of the next-day win over UT Arlington and a well-deserved Thanksgiving rest, the guys will be up & ready for So. Florida (KenPom #143) this coming Monday. Perfect timing, IMHO.

THEN, we go to undefeated (KenPom #14) Auburn on Thursday. Again, good timing as win or lose Monday, we'll have had time to learn & regroup. While Auburn won't have played for NINE days (since a next-day close one over Richmond on Nov. 26). Chance for a second year in a row a previous year's final-four team comes out flat against finely tuned FU?

South Florida has been inconsistent but were highly regarded before the season started. They present a test. Their best big man was injured before the season but they are deep in numbers with other hefty guys. They have athletic guards but are turnover prone and have not defended particularly well. The various rating services will have us as favorites. USF beat Loyola by 11 but that is misleading . Loyola lead by 6 at the half and lead for much of the second half before having a shooting breakdown at the end of the game.

Auburn will be tough. They started the season slow, but appear to be getting better in a hurry.

Auburn sold out their season tickets. Only seats available on their web site are upper level. Should be a good crowd.
