Furman-Austin Peay Home and Home???

Since our AD's will probably at least meet for a handshake this weekend, wouldn't it be a good time to talk about a Furman-APSU basketball home and home?
APSU has a lot of good BB tradition. When we had Mayes and Leonard, they had a New York City playground player by the name of Fly Williams (already mentioned in the football thread). Fly led them to 2 NCAA Tournament appearances, one a victory over Jacksonville U. and the next year a loss to Kentucky in overtime. Fly only stayed 2 years, because as legend has it, he never attended a single class. APSU went to the NCAA again in '87 and beat Illinois. Dick Vitale said if the Govs beat the Illini, then he would come to Clarksville and "stand on his head", and he did.
They won multiple OVC titles thru the 90's and early 2000's. Clarksville is also a good basketball town having 2 future NBA players play at the same time at Clarksville High in the late 90's. Trenton Hassell, who played for APSU, then Chi Bulls and Minn Timberwolves, and Shawn Marion, who played at UNLV, and then the Phoenix Suns.
They are getting ready to build a new Event Center in downtown which will be the new home venue of the Govs basketball team. They could open it in 2022 with Furman. They probably think they could beat Furman, but we know better!
