We are exactly 5 weeks away from the big home opener showdown with Loyola, but we have business to take care of in Boiling Springs, NC first. Last year's contest with GWU was a tight one that FU pulled out, and GWU went on to have a solid season finishing 23-12 Big South tournament champs, going on to lose to UVA in the NCAA tourney.
They lost 2 important seniors, but return one of their top players in Jose Perez.
Very important that we take care of business here and start the season off right, we want major momentum coming home for what I expect to be a sold-out Timmons Arena when Loyola comes to town on Nov. 8th

Gardner-Webb's home crowd will be a huge benefit to them in this game against Furman. For Gardner-Webb, it will be the students' and fans' first great opportunity to show the love to their team (minus those departed seniors) following their conference championship game victory and following G-W's only ever NCAA tournament game appearance.

Perez is the man. He brought the Bronx schoolyard to Timmons last year. Play -ah! Dude needs to be shut down or we have a problem.

I think the biggest key this year will be consistency from the "star" players. Let's face it, last year we had one consisitent player that showed up every game and he is gone. Last year we had a lot of 20+ point performances one game and 4 the next. Need to keep those at a minimum this year to be successful.

Yep, and I think our overall depth will be better this year which will help, or I hope so at least

I hope to be there, if tickets become available on the GW website. Their ticket ordering page is pathetic. Looks like you have to actually call into the ticket office.

This is good stuff!!!
Dripping with positivity and a nice visceral touch. Great for recruiting and marketing. For too long a period, our marketing efforts have been passive. This is a real step in the right direction.

It is a crappy looking online set-up GWU has indeed

Anybody heard about what time there will be a basketball scrimmage on homecoming weekend before the Citadel football game?

Second hand information from a reliable source on tickets for the G-W game.
All tickets are GA; no advance sales. Show up, get a ticket. $10-$15.

My son and I went to the GW game in Boiling Springs a few years ago. We tried to buy tickets at the gate...they had a small card table set up and were only accepting cash. Not sure if it's still this bad...but I'd prepare accordingly.
