Seems like a lot of the better players transferring out of the SOCON for a higher ranked team/conference see less playing time and productivity at the new school. Have any transfers out been wildly successful / starred at their new school?

Additionally, wouldn't this trend enhance FU's recruiting & retention (of both players & coach) position? We'd be a virtual lock for season championship & NIT as well as #1 seed for tournament championship & NCAA berth.

Keve Aluma and Storm Murphy (who followed Mike Young to VT), and Ryan Larson (Woffy to C of C) come immediately to mind. Also Bubba Parham at Ga Tech (from VMI) before moving to Samford. All mildly, maybe not wildly, successful.

Currently a WC transfer, can’t recall his name is starting for Wisconsin, BTW in the Alabama game Saturday I heard the announcer say that Noah Gurley was a transfer from Furman. He is still playing some but wonder if his is doubtng his decision a little.

First, let’s not forget that Noah graduated and wanted to get his graduate degree at Bama. Second, he is the most popular player on the team. Third, watch this video. He has no regrets.

Max Klesmit is his name. I hated him at Wofford, but respect him at Wisconsin

He transferred to Western from Morehead State. I hate the transfer portal. Is there no limit to how many times one can transfer?

Many are grad transfers. The population of extra COVID eligibility is decreasing as well. It's a significant part of the game now but these players hanging around for 6-7 years at 3 different schools is temporary.

Transfers will remain fairly common but the intensity will decrease, as a function of arithmetic.

Not usually and no penalty if they transfer out of conference. One player on Miami last year had played on Cal, DePaul, Kansas and Miami

You only get one transfer, after that you have to sit a year unless you can get a special exemption. Graduates can transfer anywhere without sitting a year.

Technically, he has entered the transfer portal. He has not officially transferred yet, but a team will pick him up. I wish him well.

Hate to see Joe Anderson leave. He will definitely get an opportunity elsewhere to play. That gives us 1 scholarship now for a transfer.
