We beat a lot of schools for Tommy who does not live in a traditional FU recruiting area. Congrats to our hard working coaching staff who are expanding our reach and the continual improvements we have made to the overall program that makes it attractive for stellar prospects to come and play and wear the purple. Lets keep it going and have a great season.

Probably not how it will play out but technically because of redshirt years and covid year we could have the same 13 scholarship guys in 2023-24 that we could have in 2024-25

So does that mean we could potentially not have an incoming freshman class that year?

If all 13 guys decided to come back then yeah we would not be able to offer any 2024 high school seniors

Humphries appears to fit into a lot of what we try to do. He can play multiple positions in our system, is a team player who helped his high school to a state championship, and is very efficient. He was the third best percentage jump shooter at 59% in the Adidas sponsored summer leagues. The guy who was second best just committed to Iowa State.

Consistently having teams with 5th year seniors and juniors who are good players is a recipe for success. Those one and done Power 5 teams will not want to play a mid-major that has experienced players in Nov./Dec. and might not want to play one in March!

In that scenario I think Anderson and Hien would be using their covid year and we could recruit two freshmen for 24-25.Maybe three depending on Foster's eligibility status.

I don't think that allows us to recruit more guys, I thought that was only for last year, do you know where the rules are stated that show we can carry more than 13 scholarship players a one time?

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
