In the tourney it will be key for Gurley to crash the boards hard, we are 11-1 when he gets 5 rebounds or more, and the one loss was the late 10 point collapse vs. Samford that we lost by 2
We NEED him rebounding

Mounce seems so key to me. When he's aggressive and hitting from outside, everything else seems to fall into place. Not sure what's cause and what's effect, but when Mounce shines, FU seems to do well.

BTW, if you want to talk about tools and potential, Clay Mounce's ceiling is a high as anybody's; the ceiling is the roof.

Spot on!!
When Mounce scores 13pts or more the Paladins are 13-1, with that one loss being?? You guessed it the Samford collapse, so basically when Mounce is putting it in the hoop we are rolling!
When Mounce gets up 10 or more shots he tends to do well, only 1 loss when doing so for FU and that was his ice cold 1-10 performance at LSU.
I expect we will be running some sets for him early in the quarterfinal game to get him some open looks and get his confidence rolling for the tournament

Looking at you Furman, get on the ball and do something to get students up there to support the program, its your move to make

Furman students will be on Spring Break...I doubt you'll see more than a handful. I counted about 20 college age Furman fans at the Semifinal game last year.

And that is something that NEEDS to change, absolutely ridiculous that Furman can't figure this crap out after all these years now!
Spring break started on Friday and the tourney weekend will be when they’re coming back so I’m sure we will see more than a handful of students come up to Asheville!
If this is true, Furman should be putting together a bus to transport students up to Asheville for the game(s). Wofford has been doing it for a few years...no reason why we can't do the same.

“IF this is true”...come on now I just looked up the academic calendar, I don’t make up dates! I agree there should be a bus for the championship game. I don’t think they’ll have enough students back for Saturday and Sunday to fill a bus but I’m sure the passionate group of students we have been seeing in Timmons who also made it to the game @Wofford should be driving themselves there.

Another note on Samford (our only 'bad' loss), I have been seeing some pointing out lately how strong the OVC is with Belmont & Murray St.
Samford who finished 7th in the SoCon boat raced Jacksonville St. by 20, a team that finished 23-8 and 15-3 3rd place in the OVC, and Samofrd also barely lost to Belmont in overtime.
SoCon is much much tougher

Also, Citadel beat Campbell on the road (who won the Big South) and beat South Floirda on the road (who finished 18-11)
That's an interesting matchup Friday night (Citadel vs Samford), those teams at one time were both sitting at 9-2 and 10-2 with loses to Clemson, Ohio St, Texas and overtime to Belmont, and yet the SoCon still ate both of them up.

I could see the winner of that game give fits to UNCG in the quarterfinals Saturday, I like our spot as the 3 seed better

It will be remembered as the biggest snub in Socon POY history when the award goes to Fletcher. Hopefully there will be a meeting of the two in the championship Monday and MR will be awarded Tourney MVP.
I'm not going to go ballistic when Magee wins. He's an incredible player and is putting up historic offensive numbers on a team that went undefeated in conference. However, Rafferty, in my humble opinion, is the most valuable player in the conference and is the best all-around player. I think those stats that Scott Keeler posted back that up as do the fact that MR finished the regular season 5th in PPG, 3rd in RPG, 2nd in FG%, t-3rd in APG, 6th in FT%, 2nd in SPG, 14th in BPG, 4th in A/T ratio, 7th in ORPG, 2nd in DRPG and 8th in MPG. Remarkable and steady year from Matt.

That's the way I see it.

Rafferty is, I think, the most complete player in the league. I do not believe he is the league leader in most statistics, but he's among the top in virtually all of them.

McGee is really good at what he does well. It'd be hard not to give the award to the best player on the best team.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
