If Furman is a pretender, so is ETSU and Woffy. Keep faith in these guys. We’re asking a lot from them and you can see they’re playing hard. We want our best bb in the tourney. Wofford has done that plenty of times... remember last year? Furman, Wofford, ETSU, and UNCG are all contenders. Honestly, teams like Chatt, Citadel etc will shake that up. Gotta love the SoCon.

Turnovers suddenly seem to be a huge problem. Earlier in the up year we were very goid at taking care of the ball. It has to be because we are seeing way too many lineup combinations. Players that play a lot together tend to play well together. 35 different combinations not so much. .
Prior 3 games:
7
11
12
Last 3 games:
15
18
18

Villanova, Alabama, Loyola Chicago rankings presently
We’ve been somewhat competitive with those 3 during the last 3 years.
If we were that competitive with 3 top 22 teams in most other sports in the same time (have we been? which ones?), we would be happy.
Our men’s basketball program IS good.
We are, and I believe we will continue to be, good enough.

Only a half game lead over 5th place UTC now. Maybe its best right now if we don’t makeup the UTC game because right now we hold the tiebreaker. What makes this so frustrating is a win at VMi, home against WC or tonight and we would be all alone in first place instead of playing for 4th, 5th or 6th place.

If we were good we would be in first place by 3 games. We woukd have won at VMI, destroyed WC this past Saturday and won tonight. Just sayin’

Call me crazy, but I actually think Furman is in a great spot...They know they're good enough to win this, and they have something no one else does going into March...Four experienced starters that have stood toe-to-toe with Nova, Loyola and Bama

I will call it eternal optimism. It gets old talking about potential. I don’t even think UNCG is very good. Based on the season so far I would say we are an average basketball team and 6-4 in the So Conf. and that the season has been a huge disappointment.

We better turn the ship soon.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
