meanwhile.. ex Din Joe Anderson with Lipscolm beat FLA St today....
Anderson must have run the offense well today. He played 38 minutes, with 10 assists and 6 points.

I cannot think of a more embarrassing loss for Furman basketball. Outplayed, out hustled, out coached. Pathetic effort. Sadly for Anderson, it only counts as an exhibition game.
When even Roundball calls out the coaching you know it was bad.

Nothing to add aside from Bob has a terrible record against former assistants.

A low point for the post-Medved Furman program. I’m not gonna call out any player in particular but we have some young players that have regressed from last year terribly.

This team is not a good team and with so few players healthy, they will not win many games...coaches can only do so much...Anderson has better players for sure. long season ahead

We have a team of healthy players, only have 2 missing players. No excuse. Foster and Pegues I think/hope are better than the AU players but outside those 2 I would give a slight edge talent wise to AU from what I saw today. Their guards were much better than the FU guards.

CBR keeps saying we have good shooters. Where are they? The last 2 games we are 7-47 or less than 15% from 3. The last 2 games:
Hien. 1-7
Whitt 1-6
Smith 2-14
Williams 0-9
Hughey 0-1
Vanderwal 1-5
Pegues 2-5

In just 9 short months we have gone from the penthouse to the outhouse.

Nailed it and we all know who they are, no sense in naming them.

Foster is the only elite shooter we have. JP is good. The rest of the team is either streaky up and down (mostly down) or not very good. Might be time to limit all the threes and have a more balanced approach.

Agree with you apaladin..we need to play to the strength of our players which is not shooting..but guys like Hughey and Molnar and Hein, Williams and Foster all can finish underneath so going there will produce a lot better results and tax the defense of the opponent

None of us wanted to believe it, or admit it but we all knew last year was a once in a lifetime season for a team like Furman. We tried to believe the preseason hype that we were going to be good again but deep down we all knew that it was not likely. We lost 2 of the best players in Furman history. In the Furman world those type players just don’t get replaced. The good thing is last year happened and no one can take that memory from us.

I have to take some of the blame. Wore a new shirt and hat today. Obviously will not wear them again. I did not get to hear the postgame. Did CBR show? The postgame presser is usually on youtube by now but maybe they didn’t have one? I think the most disappointng thing today was how Anderson won the majority of one on ones on both offense and defense. The SoCon today:
WCU beats King by 28
Citadel beats Toccoa by 30
FU loses to Anderson who lost by double digits their 2 previous games.
