Bothwell wins 2nd Ohio D-IV Player of the Year

Very impressive. Is it possible we could have 2 starting freshmen at guard sometime next season? Of course this year we started 4 guards.
Two freshman starters is a stretch. Taylor could probably benefit from a redshirt year.
I know there was at least one website that said Taylor was a day one starter at Furman and I know some on here agreed.

I’m fairly confident both Taylor and Bothwell will play significant minutes next year.

Taylor is not going to sit out a year.

What excites me is both of these guys (Taylor and Bothwell) are extremely battle tested.
Bothwell and Cornerstone appear to not back down from playing anyone.

When will the recruits be on the Furman campus. I can hardly wait.

It may have been in another post but does anyone think we have had two recruits in one year that scored over 5,500 points in total in high school.

I’m hearing they will be on campus this summer.

Mike Bothwell and Cornerstone Christian play Marion Local in the D-IV championship game tomorrow. They made it past Berlin Hiland 51-41 yesterday...Mike had 22 points.

Somewhat off topic...We (my high school-Gilmour) lost to Berlin in the '92 D-IV championship. The community brought a few hundred fans in vans and small buses so they could see the game. Berlin and the immediate surrounding area is mostly Amish and Mennonite. Here's an SI article about the team and coach who beat us...it's a fantastic read. Disney already owns the rights to the movie...not kidding. While it sucked losing the championship game, we lost to Perry Reese Jr....definitely something I can live with. He was an amazing man.

Furman, William & Mary, and Western Michigan are schools being considered by 6'9" forward/center Matt Grace. Grace is from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and attends TRC Academy in Brantford. They won the championship in their league.

From the highlights video Grace is agile and mobile and is a smooth scorer inside and outside. Runs the court well but definitely needs some more muscle. Could be a redshirt candidate his first year.

as mentioned in other thread, we appear to be in the mix for former Drake signee Messiah Jones...

Jones is just about the reverse of Grace. Jones is a great leaper and hard nosed competitor without a proven outside shooting touch. He plays for a powerhouse high school program at Simeon HS in Chicago that is always one of the top high school teams in not just Illinois, but the country.

Mike Bothwell and Andrew Taylor were named to USAToday all-state teams for Ohio and Kentucky, respectively. Both were on their state's second five.
