Citadel has guys that look like they would be average players playing a the local YMCA.....

Deer in the headlights in a mostly empty arena in Charleston. It never fails. Baffling.
Citadel gave up 80+ in their first 2 conference games and we score 58. Geesh.
What an absolute mess from us here at the end in overtime, what the hell are we doing lol

Agree. Seems like all of a sudden everybody is afraid to shoot. PJ and Anderson can't do it all. Nobody from the bench with the exception of Hughey played worth a damn.
Speaking of Hughey, he came in and made some things happen. He needs more playing time. It was a good comeback win but overall a piss poor effort until about 6 min left in the game. Then we started playing defense.
The offense was pathetic most of the game. The last few minutes in overtime was a comedy of errors.
I'm not usually this critical of the team and will probably regret it tomorrow morning but watching that was a painful experience. At least we didn't quit and gutted out the win. Citadel was just worse than we were.
I don't know what it is about road games but it seems to bring out the worst in everybody. I thought we played real good on the road during the OOC games but since the conference games have started we've had 2 stinkers.
One more thing. I'm sick and tired of the bullshit calls the Refs are making nowadays on these 3 point shooters getting breathed on after the shot and a foul is called. They called four of them on us tonight and I haven't seen the foul yet!

Was really pulling for Vanderwal to make that last shot in regulation. I'm sure it would have done wonders for his confidence. He passes up a lot of wide open shots in my opinion because he doesn't want to hurt the team if he misses. Very unselfish player. If he could shoot like Smith or Anderson he would be an All-American. Still a good player and teammate.
Furman called for 21 fouls about half of them imaginary. the Citadel went to the foul line 32 times. Luckily for the Paladins they only hit 15. The same number of made FTs as we had - 15-20. We had a 45-38 advantage on the boards, which paid off. Bowser with 13 points and 14 rebounds, Vanderwahl with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Anderson and Smith combined to shoot 6-18 from three point range. Obviously we look a lot more dangerous when they are hitting over 40% like they were doing earlier.
