What do we think Wofford's mentality will be coming into the tournament? Lost 7 in a row and are dangerously close to playing themselves out of any type of postseason tourney (if they would even want to participate in the CIT, CBI, etc.). Do they come out fired up knowing that they've beaten UNC, UNCG and Furman this year, played close games against everyone in league play, and have a fresh shot at the NCAAs? Or do they fold? Believe their talent level alone will get them by Citadel. I just can't envision a scenario where they lose, even if they aren't super interested in being there. Then they get Furman. A rivalry game and a chance to play spoiler might be enough to get them motivated. Believe we have the better team. And we will be rested. If we come out shooting well, we win. If we don't, it will be another nailbiter.

It's Wofford. There mentality coming in will be to win the SoCon. They have the talent to do so.

About 10 people in that photo. Only 2 of them, both in the background, appear to be even half-way smiling. Where is the joy? Looking at just that picture, one might think we lost the game and were picking up a trophy for 2nd place. There was a lot more joy evident this past Saturday in Timmons Arena.
I do realize those (March 1973) were not the best of times for our nation.
(Not suggesting now is the best of times for our nation. Paraphrasing what Congressman Clyburn said last week, “I am fearful for the future of our nation; our nation is now at a very serious ‘inflection point’.)

All these sites are corect but the big problem is the major conferences control the bids. They are going to limit good mid-major teams as much as possibl. First and foremost they do not want to give up any of the money a mid-major at large bid would take away from them. Second they could lose even more money if any mid-major advances so obviously the fewer good teams they the more money they get to keep. The only way to get more deserving teams is to limit the teams power conferences can get in but of course that will never happen.

Back to Wofford, they will do everything possible includung maximum effort to beat FU Saturday.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
