I did the tour today. It was excellent. They have thought of everything. It was surprising to see the wood floor already down as there is much left to get completed. Hoopla, the video boards will be on each end. The construction is on target to be completed in time for next season. I left there more excited than ever to get back to Timmons.
Great to hear!

I went on the tour as well. It is going to be quite impressive. There will not be a bad seat in the arena. They are collaborating with The Children's Museum on the children's area. Concessions will be easy to access. The students will be behind the goal on the right as you enter, with their own party area above their seats that student organizations can reserve for special events. The two party suites are nice and should accommodate 24 people each. It is amazing to see how the inside of Timmons has been totally transformed. The concession stand downstairs is gone. The two big bathrooms downstairs have been made into smaller restrooms, and 4 smaller locker rooms have been made for visiting teams. We were told it will make it easier for Furman to host different athletic events and tournaments. The two video boards are big, and there are two ribbon boards. Player benches will be on the opposite side of where they were. Courtside ticket holders have their own entrance and private lounge. The Furman teams, refs and visiting teams will have their own corner entrances. I am so excited for the future of Timmons Arena!

We need homecourt advantage back, badly.............
Yes, the novelty of playing in that cold (literally and figuratively) arena has worn off. Plus, playing at noon on Saturday is terrible for families with kids that play church ball. Add a rainy and cold day in the equation, and you get the low attendance. Looking forward to playing home games again.

well, only two more games left. U would think a Noon start on a rainy, cold day in a cold arena would favor the home team. Maybe it did, maybe the final score would b a lot worse without those home team advantages. Or maybe the team was celebrating Valentines day a little too much. That would favor the away team

Has it? IIRC we scored 96 Wednesday in the same building and the weather was worse. Timmons will not hold today’s attendance and it was loud at times.

The announced attendance was 2,767, which includes all season ticket holders. There were less than 2,000 actual butts in seats. Timmons would have been sold out and loud.

Have to disagree. There was more than 2k. The side opposite the benches was as full as I’ve seen it plus there were a good many in one of the corners. I would say probably the 4th best actual peeps in seats. Unfortnately we have not played well when attendance was the best. We have lost all 3 Saturday SoCon home games. We have one left vs. VMI.

We need some better players. The Well is certainly not the problem.
agree..I hope coaches can figure out who fits in our present group..I feel there are fits with this group that havent been discovered or shown. I feel we may see a surprise from coach just before the tournament that will give us an edge going in..

Never said it was 'the' problem, but its a fact that our winning percentage has been better at Timmons........

Zero student involvement downtown really hurts....................

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
