No 6 hour bus ride for these guys... they travel in style

A Davidson supporter might say “what are the odds Furman makes it back to the big dance within 42 more years?” and “what are the odds Furman catches up with Davidson’s National academic rankings within ‘ever’?”
Or a Davidson supporter might have more class than to say anything like that.
(Likewise a Richmond supporter. And yes, I realize Richmond is currently about 75 spots below Furman in KenPom basketball ratings.)
So you should be glad Davidson left the SoCon because that should have made it significantly easier for Furman to be the SoCon’s representative in the big dance. Davidson’s been gone for years, and yet we still have only 1 appearance in the last 45 years. They have had 3 years in the big dance and 3 other years in the NIT since they left the SoCon. They get more national exposure from playing conference opponents in places such as Chicago, St. Louis, New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, etc.greenvegas wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 10:49 pmI "denigrate Davidson" because they have had a much richer NCAA Tourney history than Furman, admittedly. The point is their NCAA Tourney appearances will become much rarer than they are used to now that they are out of the Socon. Ever heard of schadenfreude?

Feel free to explain the relevance of “schadenfreude” in this context.
Davidson’s record against Furman in BBall is something like 14 wins and 1 loss. Maybe we should be glad they supposedly don’t want to play us. 'Screw' Davidson and 'Play' Davidson are two completely different things, same way Screw Woffy, Sammy etc. but we still play them.........
Another example......
Screw Clemson & Screw USC, but lets play them as well
We all know Davidson, Clemson, USC are afraid to schedule Furman though.......
