And to think, Davidson went to the A10 because the Socon is a "bus league". Now they are languishing in 11th place in the A10. What are the odds Davidson makes it back to the big dance within 10 years? It's almost sad <sniff> <sniff>.

Why denigrate Davidson?
A Davidson supporter might say “what are the odds Furman makes it back to the big dance within 42 more years?” and “what are the odds Furman catches up with Davidson’s National academic rankings within ‘ever’?”
Or a Davidson supporter might have more class than to say anything like that.
(Likewise a Richmond supporter. And yes, I realize Richmond is currently about 75 spots below Furman in KenPom basketball ratings.)

You think we are bad sometimes. With 6 minutes to go VPi has 26 points, 24% fg, 20% from 3 and 17% free throws.

I "denigrate Davidson" because they have had a much richer NCAA Tourney history than Furman, admittedly. The point is their NCAA Tourney appearances will become much rarer than they are used to now that they are out of the Socon. Ever heard of schadenfreude?

So you should be glad Davidson left the SoCon because that should have made it significantly easier for Furman to be the SoCon’s representative in the big dance. Davidson’s been gone for years, and yet we still have only 1 appearance in the last 45 years. They have had 3 years in the big dance and 3 other years in the NIT since they left the SoCon. They get more national exposure from playing conference opponents in places such as Chicago, St. Louis, New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, etc.
Feel free to explain the relevance of “schadenfreude” in this context.

Furman is a Davidson BBall wanna be. Ever been in their gym? Ever heard of Steph Curry?
No 40 year tourney gaps on their resume? Wonder why we didn’t recruit him to FU?

Why is Choir Boy and Affirm posting on the Furman basketball forum? It sounds like they'd be happier posting on the Davidson basketball forum. They sound more like Davidson fans than Furman fans.

Davidson’s record against Furman in BBall is something like 14 wins and 1 loss. Maybe we should be glad they supposedly don’t want to play us. Saves us a L.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
