Well they sure as heck called walking on Hien Wed. night. Right after he got the ball at the high post he tried to dribble and the VMI guy mugged him and they called traveling. It must have pissed him off because he committed an off the ball foul on the next possession for revenge.

But you are right, it's rarely called anymore. And when the players do these euro steps it looks like 3 steps to me.

What I really don't get is a player will catch a pass or get a steal and fumble it and dribble once or twice and then pick up the ball. And then take off dribbling down the court. That is double dribble! And it's never called. Have they changed the rules?

I can't remember the last time 3 seconds in the lane was called. I doubt the SoCon Refs can count to 3 so that explains it.

Didn’t know where to put this but I watch more basketball than I should, both in person and on tv. I cannot recall the last time I saw a travelling i.e. walking called. I think it is somethng that is just ignored. Long been that way in the nba but now in college. Anyone seen it called lately or is it a thing of the past?
Selective memory ap 😉

I recall seeing Hein get called for two in recent games. Shuffled the feet.

Let’s just say it is rarely called and players get away with a lot. As FA 3 seconds is rarely if ever called too.

The way forward is simple. This team relies on three point shooting more than any recent Paladin team. And that shooting has been lead by our starting guards. Since conference play began the opposition has picked up defensive physicality at the same time that our best shooters appear a bit hampered by injury to their shooting hands. The conference games we have lost have all been marked by a very bad shooting day for either Smith or Anderson or both. Earlier in the season they were both shooting close to 50% or better. Now Smith is down to 44% and Anderson to 36%.

We need to develop more consistent low post scoring threats as a team or get more driving layups to disrupt the defensive pressure we have seen applied to our ball handlers.

Why did we foul on their possession with 23 seconds left on the clock? It was like PJ fouled his guy on purpose.

Much better except free throws. Bronson played well. Molnar needs more time.

seems like everybody played a part

Smith being Smith
Anderson had a tear of about 3 mins that was doing everything good on the court
Molinar with a couple key buckets
Vandy with some huge OR.
Ed - what can you say. HUGE shots
Hein contributed
Bowser was good

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
