Their schedule is pretty easy with only a game at very weak Vandy left as their toughest. They have a good chance to be 13-0 come SoCon season.

Fun fact, Furman has gone 15-1 against WCU over the past 8 years!

Furman will defeat one of the three following teams: Princeton, Arkansas or Tulane...The thing about it is, Furman is not going to spit the bit in November...Some of these teams doing well now won't be in February...I don't think it will be WCU or UNCG, but there are teams in our league right now playing their March basketball in November and early December.

Western lost to Big South 3-5 Gardner Webb.....

Nevermind about WCU.

Woah has WCU come back down to earth fast in football and basketball, they got drilled by 26 in hoops today by High Point of all teams lol

Updated SoCon power rankings:

1) UNCG (they look solid, great win @ Arkansas)
2) Furman (by virtue of toughest schedule, Belmont win, plus essentially taking out NET #8 in the country Princeton only to be robbed by officiating)
3) Samford (not really any good wins to speak of)
4) WCU (falling like a rock)
5) UTC (also falling like a rock)
6) ETSU (an up and down team)
7) Citadel (they seem improved)
8) Wofftard (not much talent)
9) Mercer (final run for Greg Gary)
10) VMI (I feel bad for them)

UNCG needs overtime to squeak by the #240 team at home today, they have barely won multiple games now. They are certainly right in line with the rest of the SoCon, this will be the Paladins title to win again!

SoCon is up to 16th in the Conference rankings on KenPom....a tiny fraction behind #15 Big West and ahead of #17 SunBelt and #18 CAA and #19 MAC

Notre Dane is 0-2 vs. SoCon with 10 and 20 point losses. UNCG loses at High Point by 11. Utc bareky survives Gardner-Webb at home, utc was behind the whole game. Rght now SU looks to be the best team at 10-2. 7 teams have winning records only FU(6-6) MU(5-6) and VMI(2-10) do not.

Samford's schedule hasn't been very challenging

They've played 2 games against teams ranked over 100 and are 0-2

The rest of their games 5 of them have been teams ranked in the 300's, 2 vs non D1 and 2 against teams in the 150's including a squeaker at home vs Belmont a team we beat by 20

IMHO SoCon gonna be very competitive this year. SD doesnt think any team gonna run away with it
