Kinda crazy that Gonzaga finally made it to the final four in 2017 for the first time, nearly 20 years after they 'arrived' into the spotlight..........

True, and a bit of luck goes into it as well, take FAU last year for example getting to play #16 FDU in the second round instead of playing a #1 seed.................
We got our luck last year when UVA's best player did not play in the FU game.....,Luck is where preparation meets opportunity.....
I don't think Vander Plas would have made much of a difference. Shedrick had his best game of the season against us. Meanwhile, Bothwell got in foul trouble early, and didn't have a great game. Doubt Vander Plas would have made much difference.
