Niko has coached three teams, all of them doing poorly before he got there, and made all of them better. Furman went from bottom of the conference to a contender, Drake doubled their win total in his single year there and have flourished since, and Colorado State has rebounded from the mess the previous coach left behind. CSU fell back some this year after they suffered big graduation losses and had their star player give up his final year of eligibility to go pro.

Well aware of all of that, main point was to show how one guy thinks he's "moving up" by leaving, yet has ZERO NCAA wins to show for it, while the other guy already has an NCAA win and is building a legendary career for himself ;)

To date, one guy might have an extra zero in the bank but the other guy is building a lasting legacy.

Not exactly why Niko left...He wasn't leaving to "move up"...I like Mike Buddie and what he did for FU athletics, but when it came that Niko was wanted by other schools, Furman flubbed the lines on the negotiations and didn't match Drake's offer, so it wasn't a move "up"...I say that because Niko is a good guy and not someone just looking to bolt...Much like coach Bob Richey...Thankfully, Niko kept Bob around off Jackson's staff...Something Jackson did not do with Niko.

Niko stayed at Drake for a total of 1 season, so yeeeaaaahhh ;)

We are much better off with Bob Richey, I am glad everything has played out the way it has, has worked out great for us :D

I enjoy the fact that Richey has 1 NCAA tourney win and Medved still has 0, that's awesome!

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
