I think CW has a confidence issue. He came out of HS with expectations of being a phenom which didn't happen. He progressively got fewer minutes at Wake until he transferred here. He needs a string of good games to regain some of that confidence. CBR doesn't like to play him because of his turnovers, but once he's healthy, giving him more minutes would help the team in the long run. CW has the most precise and controlled ball handling on the team, his court vision is actually elite, his shot is good when he's confident, and CBR can make is defense at least acceptable. As previously said, he's not the next MB, he's a different player that could be the backbone of our offense eventually.

Agree!
Playing time can do wonders for a player as they continue to develop.
Look at Andrew Taylor at Marshall for example, when he came to Furman he was not ready to play and was going to be a backup behind Alex Hunter. He transfers to Marshall and struggles to be a positive/productive player early on but they continue to play him solid minutes as he builds up his game, now he's getting 19ppg for a pretty good Marshall team.

Taylor has averaged over 30 minutes a game since he went to Marshall. He was ready to play at Furman as a freshman, and would have contributed immediately. Sadly, he made a huge mistake and had to leave the program.

Yeah the monkey comment......
That's not why he left Furman ultimately, I have a great deal of knowledge on the situation.
The reason he left Furman in the end was because Alex Hunter beat him out for the starting PG position and Taylor did not want to come off the bench, that is fact.

Fact is Taylor was awful as a freshmen and he has gotten better through experience.

That’s true with so many. Think about Alex Hunter as a Fr…Mike Bothwell…Jalen Slawson….etc…they were all not near the players they became.

I remember Taylor only being on campus a couple of weeks before he got kicked off the team. He never had a chance to beat out anyone. Also, he averaged 10 points a game as a freshman at Marshall. That is very productive for a freshman. If Taylor had not screwed up, Alex might not have been as productive a player for us. Plus, we know what kind of leader Alex was. Things worked out for all parties.

As for Whitt, it is obvious he is not ready. I hope he figures it out soon because the team needs him.

Taylor did not get kicked off the team, he left school on his own

FYI, Whitt helped us win tonight
