It is inevitable after our tournament win

The Paladins showing interest in 6'3" guard Justin Ray from Eastside HS, Greenville, SC. Ray recently added an offer from Monmouth to go with earlier offers from Wofford, Western Carolina, and USC-Upstate. He posted a picture of himself with Jordan Lyons (now at Navy) and there are reports that claim he has an offer from them as well as ETSU although the Verbal Commits site doesn't show those offers yet. Among others showing interest - Columbia, Stetson, College of Charleston, Virginia Tech, and South Carolina.

One recruiting website lists Ray as the #2 shooting guard in the state of South Carolina. The same site lists Cole Hansen and Jaxon Prunty (both of whom have received interest from Furman as the #4 and #6 shooting guards in the state.

Ray has a very quick first step and a lot of bounce and has put up some very big scoring totals in his HS and AAU careers.

Justin Ray has committed to Monmouth. Would have liked signing a local guy. We have one possible spot to fill and we are obviously going to be highly selective. We will need to sign someone who is willing to wait a year or so though as we could have everyone return next year, including the two freshmen who appear to be red-shirting this season. If we sign anyone this year they would likely be asked to red-shirt next year.

This former WHHS player is only a junior, but maybe we can get the 3 point record holder to transfer to Furman?

I think we will have more schollies available than we think. I just don’t think everyone will be back next year. If we indeed only have one that needs to be used in the portal.
