We are the better team but Mercer is doing a great job disrupting Raffery. Double teaming him every time he gets ball. Fortunately, he’s the best passer in the league. I think we will be ok, but still very nervous.

They have obviously decided that they are not going to let Rafferty beat them. At times they have 3 guys collapse on him. He has 5 points.

You would think that shooting 55 % and 44% from 3 we would be ahead by more.

Need to relax and play better defense and not have stupid turnover’s.

Funny thing about refereeing, speaking as a longtime recreational soccer ref; involving yourself unnecessarily in play always seems to ignite things somehow. The poor Paladins just seemed to struggle with lead changes right up until that trailing ref called that foul - I think it was Gurley's fourth - from somewhere out on the Appalachian Trail.

Furman now leads by fifteen with 6:12 left.

Really really don’t like Hoffman.
Talked to him in an airport once. Nice guy.

He is probably just one of those guys that opposing fans like to dislike given his sideline demeanor.

It is probably fair to wonder how much longer he may have at Mercer. I think he's signed through next season, but Mercer seems to be getting worse each year and Hoffman is right at about .500 in SoCon play.

Very worried about Matt. We obviously need him. But so impressed with tonight’s win. Lyons was brilliant. Brown was steady, Clark was great off bench. We can play better, and will have to play better tomorrow, but a great start to the tourney.

Good teams close out games.

That's one thing Furman has seeming done well the last few years - finish.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
