One more is still playing.
Alex Wilkins and Brooks made the state tournament and play on Wednesday.
By the way, in the season's final game, Wilkins scored 45.

You are correct, sir - I'll blame it on needing that second cup of coffee…

Not the first 3, but Bronson has a ways to go shooting the rock considering he's not a premier ball handler/distributor...

It was tongue in cheek. Bowser starts, Vanderwal and House likely, Bronson unlikely.

Thread drift here but y’all started it :)

Yes Bronson has been disappointing this year. I had hoped for more from him. OTOH if you think back to the development and maturation of Daniel Fowler and Mike Bothwell they both were unimpressive as RS Fr as well.

IIRC, Pegues wasn’t anything to write home about in his debut year, either. Remember how worries everyone was when he took the reins his sophomore year? He finished that year pretty well.

I don't think Bronson is all that bad a ball handler and also don't think he's been that much of a disappointment. He has struggled with his shooting lately. An off season of shooting practice ought to make him a strong contender to start next year.

Could next year's starting lineup (beginning of season) be: ??? Assuming we don't get anybody in the portal.

Bronson
House
Vanderwal
Johnston or Molnar
Bowser

I guess it will depend on how much better Smith and Humphries can get and how good those freshman are. All the frosh seem to be excellent offensive players but I would assume that none of them know how to play defense at the D1 level. How soon each one progresses on D will probably be directly related to PT.

The starting lineup could be a lot different by the end of the year.

With both Bothwell and Fowler you could see they were going to be stars their first year. Bothwell shot 45% his first year compared to Bronson’s 30%. Fowler shot 46% his first year and startd all 33 games. Bronson just hasn’t shown that star quality yet but hopfully he will. Tomorrow night would be a good time to start. :  D

^^^^^ Apal…, I disagree that Bronson does not show star quality. You're comparing shooting and missing what I'm guessing the coaches see in Bronson.

Basketball is more than shooting… I know I don't have to say that, but I will since you compared Bronson's shooting to Fowler and Bothwell's.

As an athlete… Bronson has shown he's elite in his first year. He can play some darn good defense. He's got hops and made a nasty block. That was special. He's also a good ball-handler, going against a landscape of transfer veteran guards in the SoCon. Finally, the dude plays hard.

WIlkins will get every opportunity to be the point guard next year. I might be looking at him with purple-colored glasses — he's special. So are Franklin and O'Neal - gonna be fun to see how these guys develop and fit into our system.
