On a proven Senior D2 point guard transfer for next season.......

With Smith and Anderson graduating this season I am a bit concerned about us at the PG spot next season.............

There is always the possibility that someone transfers out, freeing up a spot. D1 or D2, I think it would be a smart move to pick up a proven PG as the freshmen develop. Whoever it may be, please let them know how to make FT's.

Thinking about it, we are basically owed a scholarship anyways

Let me explain.......

Last season in 2023-24 we only used 12 scholarships (of the 13 max) with Repass transferring to Anderson U. before the school year started.......

This season in 2024-25 we only used 12 scholarships (of the 13 max) with Sullinger going back to Kent St. before the school year started as he was not academically able to transfer to Furman......

So with the NCAA going to a 15 scholarship max for hoops next season the least Furman could do is give Bob Richey a 14th scholarship to use next season........

No limit to the numbers of walk-ons you can have. There used to be a limit to the number of players you could take on a road trip in the SoCon but no limit to the number who could sit on the home team's bench or be listed on the roster. Don't know if the current rules are different.

Really hope we look for a proven D2 PG..............
Agree but let’s not limit it to D2.

I like getting a stud guard from D2 (Smith, Anderson, Garrison) ;)

I like getting a stud guard regardless of where they come from.

Going by our track record I like how the proven D2 guards have turned out better for us so far.............

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
