I don't think we're as athletic as our competition. When we're able to out-hustle and out-shoot them, we win close ones. When shooting is "off" (multiple causes for this) we are doomed it seems. Perhaps our offense has too many vulnerabilities as a scheme. Seems our opponents know how to force our shooting to be "off" now. Our lack of physicality shows in the paint. I hope CBR and the boys figure it out soon. My enthusiasm has gone from sky high to the basement in 2 weeks.

Vanderwal drove the basket well right down the middle and for a while our only scorer. more effort like that from other players will make a big difference..draw fouls and make your foul shots..

What a difference 3 weeks make. 3 weeks ago we were coming off a blowout win at WCU which is rare in itself and was 13-1 and riding high. Since then the walls have caved in. An OT win vs. arguably the worst team in the country and a not even close loss to a perrenial door mat in the SoCon and 2 blowout losses. 20 wins should have been a shoe in 3 weeks ago but now is very doubtful. 5 road games left: Mercer, ETSU, UTC, Samford, Wofford. Most likely all losses. 6 home games left:Samford, WCU, Mercer, UNCG, VMI, Citadel. Hopefullly 4-2 or 3-3. That would put us at 18-19 wins which will be really disappointing. Finish the league at 7-11 or 6-12 and probably 8th place. Hoping CBR and the team can right the ship but right now there is no indication that is going to happen.

Sad Din aint called SD for nothin'

Another sad day for SD. what a difference winning makes...

be that as it may... recall last year there were several lineup changes which IMHO led to alot of confusion.

Since Vanderwall seems to have found some scoring (reason he came out) perhaps better to go back to that lineup

even if he doesnt score, cant deny his leadership

scoring + defense + rebounding > occassional scoring + spotty defense > defense - scoring

as long as on a roll, Johnston needs to start. Start Johnston + Bowser and releave them with Hien + Hughey

PJ
Anderson
Johnston
Bowser
Vanderwall

Then
Hien
Hughey
Molinar
Ed

Football practice starts in 6 months. :D SD thinkng the same Vanderwal should be starting. The recent changes really have not improved anything, if anything it made it worse. 6 weeks before the annual drought from basketball to football begins. 😡

100%. Luckily, Track, tennis, Lax and SB right around the corner. Expect at least one of those to be in Top 25 nationally

Ok but that doesn’t help much.

thought about players like Alex Williams..he could shoot and drive...a very physical player...checked out Duquesne roster and he hasn't played this year at all...anyway I think we need to be physical and drive the basket so maybe Molnar Vanderwal Hughey and 2 guards PJ and Anderson..just an idea

I think I remember that somebody posted a while back that William's was redshirting this year. Maybe due to a preseason injury. Not sure about that.

I like that lineup. Bowser and Hien might be better coming off the bench for a couple games.

UNCG was in the same situation as FU at VMI today. They were down 10 with 7+ to play. The difference was uncg stepped up while FU couldn’t get close. Uncg outscored VMI 19-6 to close the game and held vmi to one basket the last 7 mins. Uncg held VMI to 34 points less than FU did. 57 vs. 91. Geesh! Just more eveidence that the FU defense is MIA.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
