I don’t know if anyone else watched today’s game but I wanted to see if these are some helpful notes from the game. I only watched the second half and it was not the best wofford performance. Murphy developed a little feud with a CC player, and down the stretch fouled him unnecessarily when WC was up by 14 (I think). McGhee got to the 2000 point count but his shooting was very poor in the half I watched. Cam is a big threat for us- aggressive and tough, and once he gets to the rim it’s always in. They have a team that can shoot FTs very well and that’s definitely something that Furman needs to improve on. The team looked tired and irritated, and was very prone to fouling, which allowed CC to gain some momentum. Maybe today’s game was not a good indication of what they can do, but also this shows that mental toughness is probably not one of their strengths. I think the KU loss got to them, especially the unstoppable KU run in the second half. And still they won tonight’s game!
I don’t know if the crowd is like that at WC usually, but their arena was technically empty. Might be because of the weather, but even the student section had only what seemed like no more than 50 students. I guess I’ve only seen their sellout crowds when they play against us though...
