Just from a cursory look at the OOC games being played to date by the SoCon teams, it looks like a very strong and balanced league to me. As a matter of fact, the only teams that don't appear to be competitive are WCU and Chattanooga. Samford and the Citadel are surprisingly strong, we know UNCG and Wofford will be very good and ETSU and Mercer are always formidable. Even VMI appears to be dangerous. Furman is clearly in the top bracket but there appear to be lots of pitfalls in the league schedule. Should be an interesting and exciting season.

Not only that, the fact is that as a team getting Top 25 votes they will now be the hunted instead of the hunter. Going to be interesting to see how we play as favorites and a marked team. I feel this years group is made of sturdy stuff and will do very well.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
