Before the game I would have been happy with a 14 point win. I am still happy with a 14 point win but honestly, I am a little greedy. I wish we could have maintained that 20 point late game margin. Amazing that we won that easy while shooting poorly. The Paladins have been leading the SoCon with an overall 50+ FG percentage but were only around 40% today. Bothwell was 0-7 from three point range and Hien only scored 2. We are inconsistent but the defense was strong against ETSU, which is a team that tries to get physical and provoke you. If Foster can string together games like today we will be just fine this season.

They were all over Slawson and Bothwell and Foster made them pay with 21 pts and 11 rebounds. He was the story, but the story behind the story was Slawson. 5-6 from the field, 2-2 from 3, 4-4 at the line, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. And his D was great against those big guys.

What an unselfish player. 5th year Senior yet only took 6 shots, none of them forced, and still dominated the game.

Pegues played a good game too without scoring a lot. 39 minutes.

I forgot who said it but you guys are right about a 3rd or 4th player stepping up. Tonight it was Foster. I look for Hien, Hughey, and Williams too keep improving and will eventually step up too. And don't forget about Anderson. He didn't get to play much tonight but he is capable.

If a couple more guys had been hitting their shots tonight we would have beaten that gang of bricklayers by 30.

And DS is a great interviewer. Does a great job making the person feel safe, setting the stage and supporting

Slaw:"lots of people working hard to make a gym that would compete with Freedom Hall. They are here becuase the love FU (paraphrasing) but recruits dont know that"

Agree. He is finally making some 3’s from his corner slot in the last few games. Imagine how good he can be when he learns where the sideline is 🙂. He and Williams are improving as the season progress. They both need more PT.

It is great to watch the development of players and bench. We have a coach that can use a roster and I am looking forward to the rest of this season.
