I think we got some of our MOJO back today. Better defensive effort especially in the second half. Pegues was great on both ends of the floor and Vanderwal came in and showed some hustle and some good defensive play along with several baskets on O.

Glad to see Slawson play so well. Hien and Bothwell too. Everybody that played contributed. Foster didn't score as much as usual today but he was active on defense.

I also liked the 8 man rotation and I think we'll see more of that going forward. Don't know why Anderson didn't play but I've thought we've been trying to play too many players, but I guess you need to do that in Nov. and Dec. to some extent.

I think Anderson will still gets some minutes and has a lot to offer but I think it depends on the matchups. Coach evidently didn't think we needed as many ball handlers in this game and went with a bigger lineup. It resulted in a win.

I imagine this statistic is not relevant to whether we win or lose Saturday, but it’s a fact that WU has been in the NCAA Tournament 11 (eleven) times since FU has been there.

We would have won more than that many had we been in the Big South.

You can say that, but I doubt it. By the way, HPU, who we lost to last week, has been in the Big South for the past 24 years and HPU has NEVER won that conference. Please don’t brag about how WE could have won >11 Big South Championships, or even say it much less brag about it, when we have won ZERO in the SoCon in 43 years.

Correct my quick counting if you will. Furman has had only 17 winning seasons since our last championship in the SoCon 42 years ago. Furman has had 25 losing seasons since the 1979-1980 season. Thankfully 7 of the 17 winning seasons began in 2015-2016 and have continued to now. As of the end of 2014-2015, we had had 25 losing seasons out of the 35 seasons at that time since our last championship.
May we keep up the winning seasons.
May we also live to witness and celebrate another SoCon championship for Furman.
