As a former member of the Furman band, I can assure you that no one on campus supports Furman Athletics more with their time & energy than the Pep Band & Marching Band. But sometimes - like last Friday - they have other engagements.

Perhaps our Football and Basketball teams should be required to attend Furman Band concerts.

Easy solution, have the band concert last Friday 11/4, then no conflict this Friday for Belmont game, its all a matter of being on top of scheduling, that goes for both departments Band and Athletics working hand in hand together

Agree, the concert could have been held another night much easier than moving the basketball game as it involves anorher team.

Yep win win for everybody, in essence the band gets 2 concerts that way basically!

Concerts typically scheduled a year in advance. Basketball schedule comes out in what? September? It is too bad there is not more scholarship money allotted to the basketball band to increase their attendance at basketball games.

You answered the problem right there.
Concerts scheduled a year in advance, everybody knows when NCAA basketball starts so get the concert in right before easy, then the band basically gets to play 2 'concerts', win win for everyone.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
