We will just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope they play and lose on Saturday @ETSU

Pretty poor effort tonight from Western. UNCG could claim Covid now and claim first place. I think UNCG will play Wednesday at home because there is no chance of losing, Saturday is up in the air if they decide to play or not just depends on them. Since the SoCon is ignoring the situation and has no control, just letting teams do whatver they want is pretty pathetic. The VMI/FU cancellation now gives uncg the option to not plat Saturday. If the game had been played they would not have had that option.

By that reasoning, Furman should just win tonight and claim the same for Sat to secure the second seed...However, I have a hard to thinking UNCG or Furman is taking that same approach...At least I hope not, but in all seriousness, it makes complete sense, too, because the tournament takes precedence and being healthy is paramount...Just ask Charleston Southern.

I’ll go onto say I would imagine it’s more scientific than just saying you are COVID positive...but I don’t know...The only way it would work is a false positive and then you would probably have to submit proof to avoid a two week shutdown...So this close to the tournament, I doubt anyone can pull off such a magical wonder.

Western Carolina has been missing Mason Faulkner for the past three games - all losses. They were blown out twice and blew a 12 point lead against Chattanooga in the other loss. I watched part of their loss to UNCG and they looked very disorganized without Faulkner. The announcer said Faulkner was missing because of "family issues" , but didn't elaborate. They said he might be back soon.

In case anyone missed it, Mason Faulkner WAS back for Western Carolina against UNCG. He lead WCU in scoring with 28 points, including the three point shot that proved to be the game winner in the last minute.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
