Nice writeup. Number 12 pretty good ranking. But Matt Rafferty, though certainly in the top 10 (maybe top 5) in program history, is not the best player in program history. If I have to tell you who is, then you haven't been following Furman sports for very long, or very closely for that matter.

Bruce Grimm always said he was the best basketball player to play at Furman! He thought he was 100 times better than anybody else!

Actually, his goading Dean into getting teed up against UNC in the 78 North-South, draining the shots and then sinking the shot on the out of bounds play was a true highlight.

The other side of that coin has to be the load of bricks he threw up against Indiana in the NCAA opening round in Charlotte. Some of them from Independence Boulevard.

On balance, I'd have to say, "Nah!! Not quite who I had in mind."
