In case you haven't seen Jordan Lyons recently, he is in , by far, the best shape of his career and looks great. He also has a great attitude and is really looking forward to this season.

Article says Gurley has put on 20 pounds since last season. That's really, really impressive. Anyone seen him to confirm?

He's going to be an absolute beast this year. Mark it down now.

I am thinking the biggest improvement may be Slawson. That would help so much if he can defend and rebound effectively.

I agree that it is necessary for him to show improvement. He is potentially a great shot blocker who can leap with timing but has to learn to avoid fouls. Offensively, he should show improvement from his Freshman year. I think he is critical to the success of this team.

Agree with you guys, we know who the top 7 are heading into the season, I am also very curious to see what any of the freshman might be able to provide as well, especially 6'4 Marcus Foster and 6'10 Jonny Lawrence

IMHO the go to guy will be Alex Hunter this year.
He has very quietly developed into a fine point guard, shooter and defender.

MR is one of my all-time favorite Furman athletes. But I'm curious if certain players on the team can help fill specific roles that MR left vacant ... Slawson, Gurley & Clark - defense/blocks/rebounds ... Hunter - assists ... scoring - Lyons, Gurley, Mounce, Hunter ... leadership - ????? I think we have some phenomenal leaders, but will be curious who steps up.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
