I haven't seen any gray uniforms that gave me the "wows" yet.

Thumbs down. Reminds me of the Citadel.

Funny. I told my son that the “old timers” would hate it. You guys never disappoint!

I will take the same position I did with the garish black uniforms from a few seasons back - if it helps land talented high school football players, then go for it.
It just feels like a gray uniform for the sake of a gray uniform, though. It is better than black.
Peculiar that Furman would go with a look already "established" by two conference rivals - the Citadel and Mercer (I think Mercer still has a gray uniform).

A few things.
Gordon is wearing the gray top with white pants. I presume that means we will mix and match the grays with the current set (which only has white pants currently).
I forget the exact rules, but I don't think you'll see the grays used as a road uniform. "Color on color" games are still pretty rare in college football. Not long ago, Arkansas State was penalized in a road game against Auburn for wearing gray uniforms on the road against Auburn's blue.

I think that will be particularly true because several conference teams have gray home alternates (the Citadel/Mercer) or black (Wofford) or blue (UTC, Samford, ETSU) home uniforms. I guess you could wear them on the road against teams with a sharply contrasting look like Mercer's orange homes, Samfords red alternate, or VMIs red home.
In the video, you can see a player off to the side in the Gray pants. Fortunately, it looks like the purple stripe that is on the white pants is also present on the gray pants.
Also, the grays have uniform numbers on the shoulders instead of stripes.

Oh my god, these are amazing! My biggest complaint with the alternates from a few years ago was how cheap they looked. But these actually look well done and follow the same look of our other uniforms. I wouldn't want them every game, but over the course of 6 home games you could easily do a 4 purple, 2 gray rotation. And gray makes so much sense since it was a color used often in I believe pants and the helmet in the 70s or earlier. So a little throwback, but in a more modern way. Awesome job by the equipment crew.

UGH....garbage. Gray is not a Furman color. You want to wear a gray uniform, drive 200 miles down I-26, shave your head, and carry my bags to my room.
...feel free to flame away. It's just my opinion.

Why not purple (not white) numbering and lettering on the grey. I greatly dislike white on grey for these jerseys. And/or use a significantly darker grey than the photo shows.

This old timer approves! I wonder if the grey stripe on the helmet is a permanent addition or will only come out with the alternate jerseys?

Hopefully these are not a done deal Hoping these are just salesman samples trying to drum up business. We've seen stuff like this before that never materialized. Remember the alternate Purple helmet that looked great but never was?

So, that's not entirely true
