I take it this means Clay is comfortable with the system and the style we play and wanted consistency, and besides Duane is a good young coach.

That is good news. That likely means no major changes to the system in place. We have the personnel matched to that scheme and are on the verge of prospering in it.

That is good news. He has hired a DB coach as well, and I would assume it is the gentleman from Austin Peay.

Also appears Lamendola gets a promotion to recruiting coordinator.

This, in my opinion, is how to do it. Hire good young coaches, instill loyalty in the program, and then promote them. Rinse. Repeat.

Seems like we'll be making two hires - need a coach for CBs and one for safeties.

Maybe they just go with one coach for DBs.

CCH seems to NOT panic and put some thought into these big decisions, same as he does with recruiting. (does not panic to sign all scholarships by the first signing period) There are a bunch of class acts in the Furman football program.

I cannot see CCH doing that

Interesting follow by a couple of the coaches is Bobby Maffei, defensive quality control coach at Baylor. Previously coached DBs at Tenn Tech for a season. Seems the plan to move more into Texas would benefit from a hire with Texas connections. The naming of Coach Lamendola to recruiting co-ordinator also supports this move as AF recruits Texas hard. Doesn't hurt us in OH either.

I can’t think of a more qualified candidate...Duane will get it flat out done!

Nope. GQ coaching QBs is plenty good enough IMO.
