D.C. resigns

I heard from one our football players at the BB game in Timmons that football defensive coordinator Staggs resigned yesterday. He was not sure but thinks he is going to Coastal Carolina. New coordinator will be Cornerback Coach Addison Williams.

I think our problem in a lot of sports has been the opposite....keeping coaches too long.
Another program with a problem keeping coaches is Alabama.
Hire good coaches and either give them a career path for advancement or lose them. I’m certain that the promotion of Coach Williams is part of the process of hiring rising stars and promote them until you lose them. It’s the nature of the beast at every level.

Absolutely correct. There is always another potential wizard around just aching for a shot. Find him, hire him , let him go. Next?

Hope this doesn't affect recruits who were going to sign Wed.

Well that makes sense. They certainly know each other well. I'm sure Coach Hendrix saw this comming. Gotta move on and keep the intensity of the dark side.

Prolly hasn't been announced. He just resigned Saturday. Prolly will be announced Monday is my guess.

Like I said, where he is going is not known. The speculation is that it is Coastal because of Chadwell signing on as new head coach. Very likely is accurate.
