Furman v Samford had been postponed. Details to come about make up game

Too bad. This was gonna be a W. If it is made up, I don't know when they could do it.

The remnants of Hurricane Helene blew through South Carolina’s Upstate region early Friday morning. Dozens of trees are down across Furman’s campus. Some buildings are experiencing flooding and leaking roofs. There is extensive flooding in the Greenville area and widespread power outages in the region, including campus. There is no indication when power will return. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries on campus. Crews have been working since this morning and will continue to be on campus making repairs and removing trees. The safety of students, faculty and staff remains our utmost concern.

Because of the extensive damage to campus and to the region, and the uncertainty of having electricity, the campus will remain closed through at least Saturday, and Furman has canceled all Family Weekend activities. Athletics events have been postponed. This is in the best interest of our students, faculty, staff and families.

I am not surprised. The storm of the century wreaked havoc on the Upstate.

Sanford already had their bye week so not much chance of making this up.

Safety first. Absolutely.

But I have to think most agreed Samford looked bottom tier. Above VMI but bottom 3.

this may cost us a win.

If neither makes playoffs would we play it ???

If they don’t play this Sunday / tomorrow or, possibly, Monday (neither of which FUBeAR has seen anyone even mention), the only way to make it up would require (if even possible) Mercer, CIT, and/or ETSU (SoCon Teams with Byes and/or non-money OOC games remaining), as well as, potentially, Princeton, Tennessee Tech, and/or Austin Peay (non-money OOC opponents remaining) to agree to some sort of Chinese Checkers schedule-swaps to make it possible.

That ain’t gonna happen.

I can imagine the making up a game in a football season is nearly impossible.

Both teams in the middle of pretty bad seasons so far, probably both were fine with not playing.......

I would assume this is probably close to completely wrong.

Why can they play in Spartanburg and not in Greenville? Is the power out at FU? Lots of damage? TV showed a fair amount of trees down on the Wofford campus.

Can the game be played tomorrow afternoon or Monday afternoon/night?

I'm confident there's a story here. These things are almost always more complicated than they appear and involve multiple schools, travel, and sometimes matters that are outside of everyone's control.
