In his presser CCH said we started with 60 guys. Maybe he was being generic but he compared it to their 85 - which is specific (plus they may have extras he noted with NIL). He didn't say we had 63.. rather 60.

Do we currently only fund 60 scholarships? Does anyone know if we fund 60 or 63? 60 would really hurt. at FCS you truly need all 63. At FBS I could see playing with 82 or so as the percentage difference isn't as much and you have plenty of guys at each position already

I've heard we usually float in the 58-63 range. I've understood that those 3 scholarships are typically more or less dictated by how the roster shakes out when the fiscal year budget locks in as opposed to Furman not intentionally funding 63 scholarships.

Do we have any on the 2 deep that are not using a scholarship?

FUBeAR did plenty of the latter.

I suspect if you have 65 scholarship players and several out with injury, that would knock the number down some.

Also - how does it work numerically against the 63 and financially against the budget if you have some upperclassman that might only be taking one class and yet still playing football on scholarship?

Might have to cut a scholly or two if we want to pay off that $300k per yr deficit with the NIL settlement.
