but stinks - they dropped us from 9 to 16. That's quite a drop for losing (admittedly HUGE) to SEC pro team. But Chatt fell only two places for same type loss. I know, a lot of it is what the teams just around you do (like William and Mary beat on VMI and was about 16 and we were 9 and now they are ahead of us...

GF- we are lucky to be in the top 25. The only reason we are is last year and some voters don’t realize most of that team is gone. I doubt anyone in the country lost as much as FU. Just hope this team grows up fast.

Absolutely not we will enjoy the season regardless. Hopefully the team will have a good season but to think our current ranking has anythng to do with this years team is not being realistic. Hopefully it will have somehing to do with it in the next few games. I will and have gone to every home game even the BF years.

I will concede that early rankings are sketchy at best... and one HUGE component is returning players and coaches. That's all you really know until results come in. As we well know, it is such an uphill climb if you start unranked.. and yet, they leave you in the rankings if you start there until you lose a few.

An example of this is FSU - ranked 10th and not nearly deserving. All based on last year. But that's all you have - last year success + returning players that were there last year + continuity of coaching.

We, objectively, have 2 of the 3 and are very low on the returning players. So it's a real crapshoot as to how any set of new players will respond


*We NEED to beat CSU this weekend. !

There's not a ranking in the country that doesn't base itself on what the team did last year at the start of the season. It'll move up or down depending on returning players.

The polls will work themselves out. Furman will either keep winning and climb the polls, or they won't, and won't.
