Furman Transfers

I found 3 Jacksonville State 2024 season depth charts (none school-sponsored) on line . T. Huff was listed as 3rd QB on one and 4th QB on the other two. You never know if these preseason 3rd party sites are accurate. All three sites have a Nebraska transfer as QB1 and UConn transfer QB2.

From local articles, it sounded like JSU QB was a toss up. Essentially three guys (including Hiff) could win the job

Thanks Jackal. It also appears Jack Barton will start at DE at UConn, Ashby starting long snapper at Vanderbilt, and Ivan Yates is listed as 2nd team corner at Colorado.

JSU coach said he considers Logan Smothers and Tyler Huff as co-starters for game one.

Some…maybe. DEFINITELY not all.

Some were unable to pursue their desired educational options at Furman, after obtaining their Bachelor and/or Master degrees from our shared Alma Mater.

Actually, it may be accurate to say that all 2023 Paladins, who made significant contributions to the Team and are now on the Football rosters of other schools, are Furman Alumni.

Perhaps someone can confirm/deny that for us. In today’s …

…College Football world, it would be nice to say/know that we and ours are different. They come here to Furman to earn a degree and they do that while being outstanding Football Players. THEN, they move on to their next opportunity, whether that be in the NFL, grad school (which may include playing Football for their grad schools’ programs), or whatever other careers they choose to pursue, all while leveraging the experience and knowledge they gained during their years spent earning their degrees from and playing Football for good ol’ FU.

Does anyone know what happened to the OT (Toomey) who had all the good offers? Is he going to end up playing somewhere or hang it up? No biggie either way....just wondered....so good luck to him.

I've checked several times since he hit the portal and I can't find anything recent about Toomey. Maybe he just decided that he was done playing football.

The lack of business school options really seems to be a gap. With no MBA program and limited business degrees that seems like something the University would want to improve.....and not just for better student athlete options but for enrolment overall

Tyler Huff had a rough debut at J-State: 0 for 5 through the air with 2 interceptions, and -2 yards on 2 rushes.

Oops - 3rd quarter, Huff now 2 for 8 thru the air, 11 yards rushing, with a fumble somewhere along the line.
