Florida State is doing the exact same thing with their stadium, reducing numbers to create more legroom. They don't draw the numbers they once did in the Coach Bowden years. It is still a big venue but less seats.
The Bellhops took a unique approach to this... ;)

In defense of Johnson Hagood Stadium:

1-Although 11,500 seats now, The Citadel used to have 20,000-plus seats and could fill that sucker up. They have/had really good attendance in the years past. They have a good fan base.
2-A little lead paint never hurt nobody. I've eaten a lot of paint chips off old buildings. Still do, some say.
3-Remains of the CSS Hunley crew were found under the stadium stands, creating a powerful mojo.

I prefer Paladin Stadium. Its comfy, and nice and brisk on a fall day. Its a reviewing stand of Paris Mountain. And there's a man on a horse in it.

Went by PS yesterday and the new purple seats in sections 2 and 4 have not been installed. Timmons has lots of equipment materials on hand.
