Looks like we are losing one of starting OL returnees. Odd timing as we are just coming out of spring practice….

Geesh, up until now FU has avoided getting hurt bad n the portal. Now it seems basketball and or football is getting punched in the mouth every day.

Keep in mind some of this is still the extra COVID years.

Good riddance to Norman though if he transfers from a SoCon school to another SoCon school and then some low level FBS team, waste of time and effort for all involved.

Could be as simple as he lost his starting job to someone in Spring. If that’s the case he has every right to chase a starting job somewhere else.

There are lots of possibilities. He came in as a grad transfer. Has he maxed out his education opportunity at Furman? Has he had a change in his family life and plans? Has he remained academically eligible? Is he looking for a change and chance to play guard where he might project better? In any case, he anchored the right tackle spot, stayed healthy and played a big role in our chase for a national championship.

Good luck big Fred! Thanks for your time here.

Probably not, starting jobs are not determined in the spring.

Since he was the only returning starter maybe after going thru spring practice he realized he was not going to get much help since we have very little experience. Maybe he waited to see how everyone looked and was not impressed and decided to move on. Makes sense, why else would he go thru spring practice? Just sayin’

Are you being serious or just trying to be funny? Where do you come up with this kind of nonsense?

Yeah obviously it's necessary for guys to play football as an undergrad and then at 2 different grad programs to maybe get a random master's degree no one cares about, silly me for questioning that.

Just speculating, like everyone else. Could very well be what happened, no one knows. No harm no foul. Wish him well.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
