Last week, old Leonard fed some pennies and a $5 bill into the Little Smart Pill Machine and it popped out a victory for some lads in purple in the Holy City. This week, Percy Peabody is searching in the corner for change of any type to keep the machine running despite not knowing what sort of currency it may require. There are big games this week, from the Bayou to the Bluegrass, but we’ll leave those for the apprentices on Game Day and focus the real picking prowess on a game in the shadow of Paris Mountain.

Chatt’nooga versus Furman

On Sat’dy, the Chattanooga Choo Choo will make its way from halfway up Rocky Top to the Greenville train station where it will be welcomed by the head station master Clay Hendrix. While he’s not sure if what is getting off the train is a native American or a snake or maybe even a bird, he won’t wonder what a Moc is too long because he has a train of his own to get down the track toward a winning season. The gang from the banks of the Tennessee River has some talent, but what they’ll really need is the return of Terrell Owens to the flock to pick on some scrappy Paladin defensive backs. Unfortunately for the Mocs, the only TO they’ll experience Sat’dy is when the Paladin Express fires up its own boilers and turns off the steam on their engine. The Choo Choo will be put on the turntable at Station Master Hendrix’ yard, loaded with coal and sent back up Rocky Top where it will spend the off-season trying to decipher where it went wrong. Leonard’s Loser: Chattanooga.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
