Johanning having a good game.

Saw a shot of Pline on the sideline, wearing a ball cap and no shoulder pads. Any word?

Johanning played GREAT!

Played a lot at OG and Center. Saw only 1 play where his man got in on a tackle. There was also a fumbled exchange. 9 times out of 10, that’s the QB’s fault and 9 times out of 10, the Center gets the blame. Not sure if NCCU ever gets under Center, but in the sideline practice snaps they showed after the fumbled exchange, you could see the QB’s top hand was not deep or ‘settled’ enough to properly take the snap.

Other than that 1 play, Johanning got his man blocked or ‘stoned’ at the line in PassPro on every play. Really thought he was near-dominating in his execution with outstanding technique. Scouts should be impressed with that performance.

Also, saw Pline on sidelines not in pads. Never saw a trace of the other 2 SoCon Players - Ty James, WR from Mercer and David White, WR from WCU. They were on the opposite Team from the FU guys. No idea what happened to them … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This may explain Pline not playing, but practicing the week.

Tropical Bowl, not Hula Bowl … close enough…game was played on 1/20 in Daytona Beach

Nice honor for this former Paladin. He threw the game-tying TD pass in the 4th quarter. It ended in a tie. This was his Team’s only Offensive TD.

He was 5-12 for 81 yards with 1 INT and the TD. He also had 3 rushes for -2 yards.

Devron Harper from Mercer caught a couple of balls, had a PR, and made a tackle. Michael Hiers from Samford was 3 for 6 for 12 yards and ran 1x for a 20 yard gain. Prolly some other SoCon guys in there, but just those 2 jumped out at a quick glance.

Didn’t see it, but seems Pline had a 7 yard catch in the latter part of the Shrine Bowl, tried to hurdle a defender and injured himself; perhaps a knee.

Pline played on special teams and was often the 1st of 2nd man down the field on ha tackle. Pretty good for a big guy

I remember walking by Pline before the UTC game and thinking "good grief what is that dude doing not playing Power 5 ball he is a beast."

Hope he is not hurt.

It took us perhaps too long to figure out in the quarterfinals that Montana didn't have anyone that could cover him.
