MERCER AT CHATTANOOGA obviously the game of the week Mercer wins a close one.
FURMAN AT VMI Furman keeps its title hopes alive for another week but makes it closer than it should be.
CITADEL AT WCU WCU in a rout
SAMFORD AT ETSU Samford takes its first SoCon loss Bucs in a close one.

We don't see this often in SoCon scheduling, but it's kind of fun for the SoCon to get this late and the season and the top 4 teams still have to play one another.

Except FU and SU have played but like you said a lot of good games between the top 4 left. Need to pull hard for ETSU at home against Sammy Saturday. That game is on channel 62 at 3:30. Would like to see utc win at home against Mercer just to set up next week’s game, but I think MU wins.

and wth with the Citadel smoking Western 24-0 late in 2nd quarter? Maybe WCU comes back - lots of time- but I can't believe WCU may have a scoreless half. Bizarro lol
EDIT - Citadel is driving again... they may kill Western. Weird

The more I watch this conference, the more I think you have to view every game in its own universe.
It's hard to draw a lot of conclusions game to game when all 9 teams have a shot at beating anyone on any day.

Chattanooga up 20 on Mercer early in the 4th quarter, ETSU up 17-10 early in the 2nd quarter, the Citadel up 34-7 early 4th quarter on WCU.

I can’t figure how Citadel get blown out by pitiful Wofford last week then blows out a decent WCU team today.

The Citadel started a kid at QB that hasn't played in a few years due to injury.
QB is listed at 6'0 225 and looks every bit of it.
As we know, run defense is not WCU's strong suit and it bit them again. The Citadel's defense isn't terrible.
The Citadel held the ball for nearly 43 minutes. WCU for only 17.

Now that the dust settled today.
This is a 4 team race: UTC, Samford, Mercer, and Furman.
Remaining Schedule:
UTC: at Furman, at Citadel, Samford, at WCU
Samford: at Citadel, VMI, at UTC, Mercer
Furman: UTC, at Mercer, Wofford
Mercer: at VMI, Furman, at Samford
All four of those teams still have two games against the top four.
Mercer and Furman still have an off week mixed in there. I believe they are the same week (before Mercer and Furman play).
3 of UTC final 4 games are on the road.
UTC and Samford both have the always dangerous road game to Charleston.
It's late October and Furman still controls their destiny.

WCU qb Gonzalez who threw for almost 300 yds against FU in the 4th qtr last week threw for a total of 159 yds total today and most of that came late. At one time late in the game he had 6 complations and finished 13-25. WCU blitzed FU for 700 yds last week, strggled to get to 300 today and again most came late.

What's your point?
We didn't play a strong defensive effort against Western Carolina. Coach Hendrix said that. The media said that. The players said that.
We gave up 3 points today.

Go find another team. Your Debbie downer shtick has been old for at least a decade.
