If anyone is still wondering why it pays to be ranked preseason...here's your sign.FUBeAR wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 5:14 pmFUBeAR like to look at it like this…
Stats Perform FCS Top 25 (Sept. 5)
17. Southern Illinois 450
18. Stephen F. Austin 394
19. Kennesaw State 379
17-19 are jokes - all 3 should be unranked after their opening week(s) performances. Voters ‘saving’ them so they can move them back up if they win their next game…complete BS!
THIS IS SOO SPOT ON. Hard to fall out of poll. Hard to get in. That’s why if we don’t win SoCon or make playoffs there is still a real benefit to 7-4 etc. 7-4 this year, we might start next year at #20 or whatever.MNORM wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 9:31 amIf anyone is still wondering why it pays to be ranked preseason...here's your sign.FUBeAR wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 5:14 pmFUBeAR like to look at it like this…

Yep - FUBeAR has taken to social media this week and has been blistering any voters with whom he can engage about keeping these 3 Teams ranked and NOT having Samford ranked after their double-digit win over the (consensus average) #7 FCS Team..or allowing the Bulldogs ‘on the bus,’ but escorting them to a seat in the back, in Row 25.gofurman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 12:17 amTHIS IS SOO SPOT ON. The post above is the baseball equivalent of a grand salami, bat flip, slow trot, and home plate stomp (with emphasis).FUBeAR wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:55 amYep - FUBeAR has taken to social media this week and has been blistering any voters with whom he can engage about keeping these 3 Teams ranked and NOT having Samford ranked after their double-digit win over the (consensus average) #7 FCS Team..or allowing the Bulldogs ‘on the bus,’ but escorting them to a seat in the back, in Row 25.gofurman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 12:17 amTHIS IS SOO SPOT ON. It was so perfect that unranked Florida, who, like Samford lost 7 games last year, upset FBS #7 at home…just as Samford did in FCS…but the Gators entered the FBS polls at #12.
FUBeAR was able to cry “Shame, Shame, Shame!” to those voters…who are obviously ‘protecting’ their ‘sacred cow’ Teams and conferences by propping them up and using the equivalent of redlining to keep ‘unwanted elements’ out of their semi-closed neighborhoods. FUBeAR did have 1 STATS voter acknowledge that he was wrong and had really overlooked Samford’s win (not sure how that’s possible…but it does speak to the capability/quality of the voter) and appreciated being ‘called’ on it. Wonder if he was just being patronizing (or felt publicly treed) and will not include Samford in his poll next week using the excuse of their (probable…just like every other Team on the schedule) loss to Georgia.
Just to be clear, FUBeAR isn’t doing this because he’s suddenly added Samford to his list of favorite SoCon Teams, but because there is anti-SoCon bias in all the polls. FUBeAR thinks it’s because the SoCon was so dominant for so long in I-AA and FCS, that these voters found the transition of 2013/2014 humorous or somehow uplifting for them and are relishing in their schadenfreude too much to see SoCon Teams objectively.
Feel free to join FUBeAR’s quest by engaging with these voters also. They are not hard to find.
I'd only say that FUBear's post should've made at least a small reference to Florida's exceptional head coach....Just SayinYadkin wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 8:44 amThe post above is the baseball equivalent of a grand salami, bat flip, slow trot, and home plate stomp (with emphasis).FUBeAR wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:55 amYep - FUBeAR has taken to social media this week and has been blistering any voters with whom he can engage about keeping these 3 Teams ranked and NOT having Samford ranked after their double-digit win over the (consensus average) #7 FCS Team..or allowing the Bulldogs ‘on the bus,’ but escorting them to a seat in the back, in Row 25.gofurman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 12:17 amTHIS IS SOO SPOT ON. Several days ago I randomly scrolled the FCS Football twitter feed that is administered by Stats Perform and of the 35-40 most recent posts/retweets, exactly ONE was in regard to a SoCon team and Samford's win over KSU. Had the MVC, CAA, NEC, Ivys, Big Sky, (not so) Big South covered like Dixie dew, but the SoCon? Banished to the leper colony. The bias is real folks and has been for years.

It was so perfect that unranked Florida, now led by Paladin great, Billy Napier, as their Head Coach, who, like Samford lost 7 games last year, upset FBS #7 at home…just as Samford did in FCS…but the Gators entered the FBS polls at #12.

Reckon did he drop Kennesaw out after losing to Samford? Pretty much the same as ETSU’s loss to CIT. Bet he still had the owlets in his top 20.fupaladin01 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 9:48 pmSam Herder has dropped ETSU out of his Top25 completely, but actually inched up most SoCon teams from Week 1. He has hinted that he is close to ranking FU with a little more proof in FCS competition. We'll see how the STATS voters view things but I'm guessing they will dock the SoCon for L's while giving no credit for W's and strong FBS showings. Unfortunately, with ETSU possibly not even ranked next week, it may take a few weeks for us to enter the Top-25.
Yeah - saw his article. Tried to find the prior week to see what he said about KSU. But after reading his ‘preamble’ and looking at his poll, he’s better than most…so, kept the powder dry.fupaladin01 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 10:27 pmIt took him til this week to drop KSU but theyre gone now along with the Salukis and UNI.
